A shareholder at Otten Johnson, David practices with the firm's litigation, troubled credits and distressed properties, and real estate finance groups. His practice encompasses a broad range of business matters, with a particular emphasis on construction and other real estate transactions and disputes.He has represented institutional lenders, industrial, commercial and residential builders, architects, engineers, contractors, real estate management companies, wholesale and retail sellers, and a variety of individuals and entities engaged in various business enterprises.
When David was still an associate with the firm, he was part of a team defending the architect of the main terminal at Denver International Airport in a $40 million design deficiency lawsuit brought by the City and County of Denver. The jury returned a complete defense verdict after a five-week trial.
David has tried cases to judges and juries in Colorado district and county courts, as well as in the U.S. District Court and in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He has handled appeals in the Colorado and federal appellate courts. David is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution processes, including arbitration and mediation.
Prior to entering law school, David worked for three years as a sportswriter covering the NFL and NBA.
