Religious Organizations

Otten Johnson represents all types of religious organizations and schools on issues relating to the development of real property. We have assisted churches and other religious organizations with their land planning and use needs, ranging from small expansions to regulatory and zoning approval of a 240,000 square foot campus. We have successfully pursued claims under the Religious Land Use and Institutional Persons Act (RLUIPA) on behalf of religious organizations in these matters in federal court, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and in the United States Supreme Court.
